Class Descriptions

BALLET
Ballet is the base technique for all forms of dance. At The Hiland Theater, ballet students learn proper class etiquette and technique. Ballet classes include stretching, positions, barre work, center work, across the floor, and the reverence at the end of the class. At each level, dancers develop basic technique which will be a solid foundation for the continued study of dance. As students advance, teachers use more complex rhythms to develop dancers’ sense of musicality and timing.
