Santa Fe Legacy and Major Gifts Manager

Reports to Director of Development
Part Time (average 20 hours per week)

Purpose of Legacy and Major Gifts Manager
The Legacy and Major Gifts Manager is responsible for identifying planned giving prospects, keeping information and data on prospects and donors and creating a personalized engagement plan for each individual prospect and donor through interaction with the Senior Management Team, other Advancement Team members and Board members and volunteers. The Legacy & Major Gifts Manager will secure gift commitments by executing the personalized engagement plans for prospects in his/her portfolio and partnering with other staff and volunteers as appropriate. The Legacy and Major Gifts Manager will be responsible for working with the Legacy and Major Gifts Committee Chair on strategy, goals and the operational plan for each year, including sending meeting notices, preparing agendas, and taking and distributing minutes. This position will maintain a proactive timeline for volunteers and senior staff members, and create appropriate marketing and donor recognition materials.

Primary Responsibilities

Fund Development

  • Works with Executive Director, Director of Advancement, Director of Development, Board members and other volunteers to identify and qualify prospective planned giving donors
  • Manages priority list of prospective planned giving donors from current loyal and generous donors
  • Creates a personalized engagement plan for each legacy society member and prospective member, involving Senior NDI-NM staff and Board members, and coordinates with any other engagement plan for the member or prospective member.
  • Works with Legacy and Major Gifts Committee Chairperson on strategy, goals and operational plan for the year.
  • Staffs Legacy and Major Gifts Committee including meeting notices, agendas and minutes, with support from the Senior Advancement Associate
  • Carries a personal portfolio of donors (50 to 75)
  • Works with volunteers and senior staff members on major and planned giving assignments and timelines
  • Creates and maintains appropriate collateral for marketing and donor recognition
  • Plans and executes related events
  • Promotes NDI-NM in the community through attending events, primarily in Santa Fe.
  • Creates and maintains statistics on number of contacts, the number of gift commitment requests, the number of gift commitments secured and the number of gifts received
  • Other duties as assigned

Administrative

  • Prepares quarterly reports for board meetings from portfolio as part of the Advancement Team.
  • Prepares, attends and participates in quarterly meetings of the Board Advancement Committee

Financial

  • Tracks Major and Legacy giving income and expenditures to ensure goals are met, and expenses are not exceeded.

Working Conditions, Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Performs his or her functions in a variety of environments including: NDI-NM offices, school, residency sites and other locations such as donor homes
  • Requires reimbursable in-state travel to NDI-NM locations, participating schools and residency sites
  • Requires some weekend and evening hours

  • Minimum ten years’ experience in fund development, with legacy giving or other related experience

The Hiland Program Director

Reports to: Executive/Artistic Director
Supervises: The Hiland Program Producer, ABQ Costumer, The Hiland Technical Director, and
Part- time Hiland program faculty

Purpose of The Hiland Program Director Role
The Hiland Program Director, in conjunction with the Executive/Artistic Director, is responsible for providing leadership and vision for The Hiland programs and ensuring artistic, financial and administrative success of all Hiland Program activities. The Hiland Program Director is responsible for programming, scheduling, curriculum and productions. Staffing oversight and management responsibilities include, hiring, managing, training and implementing NDI New Mexico’s performance evaluation system with full-time staff and providing regular feedback to part-time staff. The Hiland Program Director is responsible for carrying out the mission of the organization and is responsible to the Executive/Artistic Director for carrying out the mission and policies of NDI New Mexico. The Hiland Program Director is a member of the organization’s Artistic Staff.

Primary responsibilities

Programmatic oversight and development:

  • Oversees all artistic aspects of The Hiland Program including; programming (Musical Theatre Track, Ballet Track, Lower Level School, Upper Level School and Company Xcel), scheduling, curriculum, choreography and productions and performances.
  • Oversees and/or directs The Hiland Summer Programs and summer classes.
  • Oversees all Hiland Program faculty. Faculty oversight includes; running regularly scheduled staff meetings (organizational, curriculum, training and production), setting and overseeing curriculum, classes, programming, and productions, watching classes and rehearsals and providing feedback.
  • Develops and implements extension programming designed to further engage and develop students from NDI New Mexico’s Advanced Training (SWAT and Celebration Teams) and Outreach Programs.
  • Develops an annual Hiland Program Operational Plan that incorporates goals, objectives, priorities and responsibilities aligned with the organization’s mission.
  • Implements and oversees work developed by NDI New Mexico’s Excellence and Rigor Task Force, including; creating, organizing and leading enrichment training workshops for all Hiland staff, including assisting in the coordination and implementation of the Tap Jam event.
  • Responsible for continued development and for implementing college study assistance program.

Administrative:

  • Oversees administrative aspects for The Hiland program including: Scheduling (in conjunction with Executive/Artistic Director); Registration (in conjunction with The Hiland Program Producer); Record-keeping (in conjunction with The Hiland Program Producer); Volunteers (in conjunction with The Hiland Program Producer); and Hiland Program event production.
  • Provides written reports to the Executive/Artistic Director for quarterly Board of Director’s meetings

Fiscal:

  • Participates in the creation of annual Hiland Program budgets in conjunction with NDI New Mexico’s Executive/Artistic Director and Business Manager.
  • Responsible for fiscal management, reporting and reconciling The Hiland Program budgets with Business Manager (in conjunction with The Hiland Program Producer).
  • Responsible for creating a strategy to ensure The Hiland Program enrollment meets strategic and operational goals and generates annual income to meet budget projections.

Teaching and Directing:

  • Teaches a minimum of 8 regular Hiland classes per week; is available to sub other classes when needed.
  • Directs and choreographs (or provides choreography) for The Hiland Program productions and performances
  • Directs, choreographs and provides programming for NDI New Mexico’s pre-professional company, Hiland Company Xcel including: Scheduling and running weekly company rehearsals and classes; Directing/Choreographing Special Events and Performances; actively seeking and creating performance opportunities; and Curriculum and Repertoire.

General Artistic Duties:

  • Schedules regular office hours
  • Attends all enrichment workshops and meetings as needed including artistic and joint staff meetings
  • Acts as an ambassador for NDI New Mexico and The Hiland Program to the community at large
  • Assists with implementing summer study programs
  • Assists with special events relating to The Hiland Program and NDI New Mexico
  • Other duties as needed

  • Performs his or her functions in a variety of environments including: NDI New Mexico offices, schools, residency sites, and other locations
  • Requires reimbursable in-state travel to NDI New Mexico locations, participating schools, residency sites, and community events
  • Requires weekend and evening hours; the position of The Hiland Program Director is full-time, exempt.
  • Requires extensive physical movement, dance, high energy, and stamina

Albuquerque Advanced Training Director

Reports to: Albuquerque Outreach Director
Supervises: Albuquerque SWAT/Cel Staff, Albuquerque SWAT/Cel Producer in conjunction with the ABQ Outreach Program Producer

Purpose of Albuquerque Advanced Training Director:
The Albuquerque Advanced Training Director is responsible for NDI New Mexico Albuquerque after-school Advanced Training programs, both artistic and administrative, and for carrying out the mission of the organization with excellence. The Albuquerque Advanced Training Director is responsible to the Albuquerque Outreach Director for carrying out the mission and the policies of NDI New Mexico, and is a member of the organization’s Artistic Staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

Program Oversight:

  • Oversees all artistic aspects of Albuquerque Advanced Training Programs, including:
  • Albuquerque SWAT and Celebration Staff including; NDI New Mexico Albuquerque SWAT/Cel Producers, Albuquerque SWAT/Cel Instructors, Albuquerque SWAT/Cel Pianists, and Apprentices, in tandem with the Albuquerque Outreach Program Director
  • Assists the Director of Albuquerque Outreach Programs, by observing classes and providing blended feedback for Albuquerque Pianists and Instructors
  • Oversees Albuquerque SWAT/Cel programs
  • Assists with Event script with Albuquerque Outreach Director for Albuquerque End-of-the-Year Event
  • Oversees artistic components of special events relating to Albuquerque Program to include directing student demonstrations and performances, including assisting with the yearly Dance-A-Thon.

Oversees all administrative aspects for Albuquerque Advanced Training Programs including;

  • In conjunction with the Albuquerque Program Producer, creates, manages and reconciles Albuquerque SWAT/Cel budgets with the Business Manager
  • Oversees administration of special events relating to the Albuquerque Program
  • Conducts Performance Evaluations with Albuquerque Outreach and Music Directors
  • Assists Albuquerque Outreach Director with all Event and Outreach administrative duties as needed

  • Assists the Albuquerque Outreach Director with the Albuquerque End-of-the-Year Event
  • Directs Albuquerque SWAT/Celebration Teams including curriculum, choreography, and administration
  • Teaches Albuquerque SWAT/Celebration Teams
  • Directs and teaches Albuquerque Summer Institute
  • Teaches for the In-School program as needed
