East Wing renovations will create a modern teaching, learning and administrative environment. Existing space will be reconfigured into five performing arts studios, offices, reception areas and storage. Lobby entrance, exterior and marquee will be refurbished. Critical safety, security and utility improvements to the facility will be addressed.
Major theater renovations will create a 6,300 sq. ft. open studio space convertible for maximum space efficiency into two smaller studios or a 600-seat theater with stage. State-of-the-art technical and theatrical upgrades, balcony reconstruction and collapsible bleacher seating complete the improvements.
West Side renovations will expand internal capacity with multi-use seminar-style rooms, modern administrative and artistic offices, technical and support space and storage.
Sustaining our established programs and our historically-strong financial position is extremely important to NDI-NM. To ensure this stability, our Bridge and Endowment Fund will provide additional funds that will be needed to maintain our current Albuquerque programming, incrementally increase the number of schools and instructional hours and launch a comprehensive and vibrant after-school program. When completed, The Hiland Theater will support in-school programs for 2,500 children, Advanced Training and after-school performing arts classes for more than 700 children and host performances for audiences for nearly 20,000. NDI-NM will triple the number of students we serve in Albuquerque.
