_DSC1029.jpgNDI New Mexico volunteers have the unique opportunity to support the arts while learning new skills and meeting people with similar interests. Volunteers play many roles at NDI-NM including planning and staffing special events and performances, creating costumes and scenery and offering administrative support.

This year, volunteers throughout New Mexico have:

  • Served on eight ND New Mexico committees to fundraise, maintain fiscal integrity and plan events;
  • Organized and distributed 300 pairs of dance shoes to SWAT and Celebration dancers;
  • Mailed 750 Thank You Projects to ND New Mexico donors and special friends;
  • Sold 1,000 t-shirts and tote bags at performances and special events statewide;
  • Sewn nearly 1,500 costumes for End-of-Year performances in Albuquerque, Northern New Mexico and Santa Fe;
  • Served more than 7,500 healthy snacks to Advanced Training students;
  • Ushered 60,000 audience members to seats in theaters, gyms and cafeterias statewide;
  • Translated dozens of fliers for In-School and School for the Performing Arts classes and performances into Spanish;
  • Answered countless Box Office phone calls, input thousands of evaluations and run hundred of errands!

Administrative volunteers are needed at The Dance Barns in Santa Fe and in our Albuquerque offices during regular business hours, Monday-Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Assist the staff with marketing and community relations, data entry, bulk mailing, clerical tasks and translations.

Program Support volunteers are needed on an ongoing basis throughout the school year as chaperones, snack monitors and Costume Shop coordinators.

Performance volunteers assist at front-of-house and backstage at events in Albuquerque, Northern New Mexico and Santa Fe. Duties include ticket and merchandise sales, ushering, costuming and parking.
