NDI New Mexico programs reach over 8,400 students each year. Many of them participate through the work we do inside New Mexico Public Schools and receive our programming free of charge.
In our two facilities, The Hiland Theater in Albuquerque, and The Dance Barns in Santa Fe, we typically offer over 150 Afterschool classes per week for dancers aged 3+ in dance styles ranging from classical Ballet to Zumba fitness (and everything in between!). For these classes, NDI New Mexico is committed to being available to all students regardless of ability to pay. Our typical tuition program uses a sliding scale based on household income, and over 80% of our families take advantage of the scale we offer.
Due to the economic strain placed on families due to COVID-19, we are suspending the use of the sliding scale and instead of offering our scale as suggested tuition, and are encouraging families to Pay What You Can. We understand that many New Mexicans are struggling through financial difficulties at this time and we are here to help. If you value the classes you receive from NDI New Mexico we ask that you give generously to support our programs and their accessibility to all in our community. If you are unable to pay tuition at this time then we hope that you will remember us at another time when circumstances change. A registration fee of $5 for each Trimester in the 2020 -2021 year is added to the tuition you choose to make in place of regular tuition.
For context as you are making your selection of your chosen tuition per semester, the typical NDI New Mexico Sliding Scale was as follows:
|Annual Household Income
$45,000 and up
Price per Class*
|$35,000 - $44,999||
|$25,000 - $34,999||
|$15,000 - $24,999||
|$0 - $14,999||
*This scale is based “per class,” the cost of enrollment in a Dance Barns or an Hiland Afterschool Program was the price per class multiplied by the number of classes in a year, plus the registration fee.
