Experience a Roots Revival! at NDI New Mexico’s
End-of-Year Performances Beginning May 4

SANTA FE, NM —“From a complicated and tangled past, something beautiful emerged that connects us – music that fills the soul and tells our stories; stories of struggle, heartbreak, hope and joy…our Roots Music.”

Over the weekends of May 4-6 and May 11-13, NDI New Mexico will celebrate the accomplishments of its students in its annual End-of-Year extravaganza and premiere of Roots Revival! – a vibrant celebration of the early roots of American music told through story, song, and dance and includes bluegrass, spirituals, gospel, blues, zydeco, Tejano, Native American and Northern New Mexican folk music.

Each performance weekend will feature different casts of approximately 500 children, along with firefighters, police officers, teachers and parents. The dancers, totaling approximately 1,000 Santa Fe Public schoolchildren who participate in NDI New Mexico programs, will perform songs and dances highlighting the cultural richness of musical heritage in America. Only at NDI New Mexico will you enjoy seeing 500 children performing onstage together demonstrating excellence in their young lives!

In addition to In-School programming, NDI New Mexico also provides high-energy learning experiences through After-School programming at The Dance Barns. Close to 1,000 children from 57 Santa Fe schools are participating in NDI New Mexico’s Advanced Training or The Dance Barns classes. The curriculum of every class encourages healthy attitudes, self-discipline, and creativity while providing students with high-quality technical training.
