The Hiland Theater Registration
Welcome to NDI New Mexico at The Hiland Theater! We have school year classes and summer classes for ages three to adult in our Young Children’s Division, Junior/Senior Division, Pre-Professional Division and Adult Division.
NDI New Mexico provides affordable rigorous performing arts programming that builds technical skills and personal character and is accessible to all children. We provide a well-rounded experience in the Performing Arts and welcome children of all abilities. NDI New Mexico provides programming that contributes to children’s success in life through healthy attitudes, rigor, discipline and creativity. Students’ experience is consistent with NDI New Mexico’s methodology of joyous learning while the teaching re-enforces the NDI New Mexico Core Four: work hard, do your best, never give up and be healthy. Sliding scale tuition is available to ensure that all children can participate in classes.

The Hiland Theater Summer Dance Camps 2026
Early Steps (Ages 3-7)
Early Steps programming at the Hiland is designed to provide a safe space for children to be introduced to dance, music and movement through play, while improving locomotor, developmental and social skills. Play, as an integral part of creativity, inspires children at this age to share, compare, and dare! Each themed weeklong camp includes a movement class, a snack, and a craft!
Two Levels
Creative Movement (ages 3-5)
9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Primary Level (ages 5-7)
9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Tuition: $150 per week
One-Time Registration Fee: $25

In addition to our week-long camps, we are offering a Creative Movement class that meets once a week in the afternoons (similar to our school-year schedule)

Arts In Motion Discovery (Ages 8-15)
Youth will “discover” their own artistic interests and voice through an introduction to a wide variety of art forms. These weeklong camps, which can be half-day or full day, are designed to spark creativity and curiosity through student-centered, nourishing instruction and exploration. Mornings will consist of dance forms (Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre, and Dance) the afternoons will feature circus arts by Wise Fool New Mexico or cooking with Kids Cook.

Musical Theatre: 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
*Musical Theatre camp participants must be at least 9 years old at the start of camp
Circus Arts: 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
*Ends with community potluck on July 2 and Hamilton film showing and master classes with original Hamilton cast member Betsy Struxness on July 3
July 6 – July 10
Hip-Hop Dance: 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Hip-Hop Elements (featuring beatboxing, spoken word, music, and visual art): 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
*Ends with Summer SOULstice Jam on July 10
Arts In Motion Continuum (Ages 11-17)
- Int/Adv/Pre-professional, by invitation or audition only
A multi-disciplinary dance intensive designed for young artists looking to immerse themselves in rigorous study in the field of dance with master teachers and choreographers. Core classes in Ballet, Modern, Contemporary and Jazz with supplementary study in Breaking, Hip-Hop, Tap, Improvisation, Pointe, Partnering. Weeks one and two will feature three days of afternoon master classes with the finest teaching artists in New Mexico. Junior Master Classes are for ages 10-13, and Senior Master Classes are for ages 13 and up. Week three is a full week of intensive training from 12:00 to 6:30 p.m.
